Chapmans was established in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, way back in 1925 by Mr. Ewart Chapman. It was a time when electricity was starting to become widely used within industry and was slowly being adopted as a replacement for gas lighting domestically.
Ewart trained as an electrical engineer and Chapmans was originally launched as an electrical contractor. Shortly afterwards he opened his first shop, at the heart of the Black Country, stocking radios and early domestic appliances....
